Atari Nostalgia - a site for Atari and Roland GP16 (GP8) users...

This site pretends not to be a site to duplicate al information about the Roland GP8 & GP16 Guitar Effects Processor that one can find on the internet, but more as a support  site for its current (Atari)users. Its therefore I decided  to put my editors on the internet. Also because I know that there are (almost) no Atari editors for those devices. You ‘ll just find information here concerning  these editors and things about it. The Roland GP8 and GP16 are still popular effects devices  with a well-known status and they become more and more a collector’s item. Further ATARI lives on.....I hope it will be appreciated. Pure read on ..why...

Example Steem environment for using Midi editors in Windows !

I have got many questions how to run the MIDI editors in Windows (Vista, XP and Win7).

You can run the Roland editors in Windows by using the Atari emulator Steem.

On request I have made a little Steem environment (Atari emulator)  for using  (the) Midi editors in Microsoft Windows Vista, XP and Win7.

The Roland GP8 editor is pre installed.

Requirements:  Windows and an installed Midi interface in Windows.

Brief install instruction:

Download the Steem zip file from the download area "Other Stuff" and install it by unzipping it in the root of C: so you get

Run steem.exe. If it doesn't start click above left on the yellow Arrow and in the Window that popped up.

If the emulator has shown up. Go to the configuration utility and choose under midi your midi interface.

For that you have to leave the editor window by pressing the "Pause / break" button on your keyboard.

Hope this will help !
